Chris Harris Named Assistant Athletic Trainer
July 26, 2012 | General
Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University Athletics Department has announced that Chris Harris has been named Assistant Athletic Trainer at BGSU. Harris will have direct coverage of BGSU men's basketball and oversee coverage of women's basketball, volleyball and swimming.
“Chris is a great hire for our department,” Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Medicine Nick Richey said. “He has an infectious personality that helps him build strong relationships with everyone he encounters. We were looking for someone who could relate and communicate with our student-athletes and coaches at the Stroh Center, while also being a true ambassador for athletics and the sports medicine department. With Chris, we have accomplished both goals.”
Harris comes to BGSU after concluding an internship as a certified athletic trainer at Middle Tennessee State, serving as the head athletic trainer for the men's basketball and women's tennis teams a year ago. Prior to that time, he was a graduate assistant at MTSU, working with the football, tennis, track and field, men's basketball, and women's soccer programs.
“It is truly a blessing to have the opportunity to be here,” Harris said. “I knew that BGSU was the perfect fit the moment I stepped on campus because of the family atmosphere among the athletic department. I am ecstatic about working in the Stroh Center's first-class facility and providing support, not only from a sports medicine standpoint, but also as a fan. Roll Along!”
Harris earned his bachelors degree in athletic training from Middle Tennessee State University in 2009 and his master's degree in exercise science from MTSU in 2011.
