Falcons Picked to Finish Sixth in the East

MAC office releases preseason coaches poll
Kent State was picked to win the East Division regular-season title, while Toledo was tabbed to capture the West Division crown. The 2012 season marks the third year that a divisional format has been utilized for MAC women's soccer.
The Golden Flashes received 64 total points in the voting, followed in the East Division by Miami (52), Buffalo (51), Akron (35), Ohio (33) and BGSU (17).
UT received 69 votes in the West Division polling, followed by Central Michigan (59), Western Michigan (47), Ball State (33), Eastern Michigan (30) and Northern Illinois (14). UT was also selected by the coaches to win the 2012 MAC Tournament by receiving five championship votes. CMU and WMU each received three votes to win the tourney, while BSU received one.
The 2012 season begins Friday (Aug. 17) with all 12 of the league's teams in action. The Falcons host Michigan State Friday evening at 7:00 p.m., and BGSU faces Cleveland State at Cochrane Field on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 19) at 1:00 p.m.
The conference schedule begins on Sept. 21 and will wrap up just over a month later, on Oct. 25. The MAC Tournament starts Oct. 28 at campus sites and will then move to the home of the highest remaining seed for the semifinals (Nov. 2) and championship (Nov. 4).
