Gates, Reuland Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's golfer West Gates and tennis player Emily Reuland.
Male Athlete of the Week
Wes Gates, a senior from Novi, Mich., lapped the 63-player field at the John Piper Intercollegiate with a 10-under 206 three-round total to win the tournament by 12 shots. He was just two shots shy of the BGSU school record. Gates opened with a 66 and followed that up with rounds of 69 and 71.
Female Athlete of the Week
Emily Reuland, a junior from Oswego, Ill., won titles at both first singles and first doubles at the BGSU Invitational. She teamed up with classmate Nikki Chiricosta to win the doubles flight and now has a perfect 18-0 career record at the BGSU Invitational.
