Falcons Usher in October with First Official Practice of 2013-14

The 2012-13 Falcons advanced to national postseason play for the ninth consecutive year, earning an at-large berth in the Women's National Invitation Tournament. Roos and the Falcons won two games before losing to eventual WNIT champion Drexel in the third round.
Roos and her staff – assistant coaches Jesse Fleming, Jacey Brooks and Sahar Nusseibeh and director of operations Monique Rosati – add five newcomers to the seven returning letterwinners. Freshmen Leah Bolton, Kennedy Kirkpatrick, Rachel Konieczki and Abby Siefker join the Falcons this season, while Erica Donovan joins the active roster this fall. Donovan sat out the 2012-13 season per NCAA regulations after transferring from North Carolina State University.
The Falcons went 24-11 overall and 11-5 in Mid-American Conference play a year ago. BGSU is 28-7 at the Stroh in the building's first two years.
Falcon fans will get their first chance to see the 2013-14 team in action on Saturday, Nov. 2, when BGSU hosts Tiffin in an exhibition. The women's game, the second game of a BG basketball doubleheader at the Stroh, is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.  That date marks the first of four Falcon hoops doubleheaders in the '13-14 season.
The regular season begins on Friday, Nov. 8, when the Falcons face Michigan in the Iona Tournament in New Rochelle, N.Y. After two games in that tourney, BGSU will return to Northwest Ohio to open the home portion of the regular-season schedule on Friday, Nov. 15. On that evening, the Falcons host Niagara in the first half of a doubleheader at the Stroh Center, with the women's game beginning at 6:00 p.m.
