Grant, Tonyan Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's soccer player Anthony Grant and volleyball player Danielle Tonyan.

Male Athlete of the Week
Anthony Grant, a senior from Kingston, Jamaica, scored both of the Falcons' goals this week as BGSU went 1-1 overall and 1-0 in MAC play. Grant scored late in the first half of BG's loss to Detroit Tuesday and then came up huge against Northern Illinois, scoring a goal in the second overtime of a 1-0 conference win. Seven of his 11 career goals have been game-winners.
Female Athlete of the Week
Danielle Tonyan, a senior from McHenry, Ill., helped the Falcons to a 2-0 record against MAC East opponents. She had 19 kills and six blocks, hitting .417, in the two victories. In Friday night's five-set win, Tonyan had nine kills (.368 hitting percentage) and five blocks. Saturday, she added 10 kills (.471 attack percentage), three digs and one block in a sweep of Akron.
