Falcons Kick Off 2013-14 Season With Scrimmage

Bowling Green, Ohio – The 2013-14 Bowling Green State University men's basketball team kicked off the new season with the Orange and Brown Scrimmage Saturday afternoon – the first opportunity for fans to see the team.
The scrimmage was broken up into three 10-minute periods and the Brown team, consisting of a possible starting five combination of Jehvon Clarke, Anthony Henderson, Chauncey Orr, Richaun Holmes and Cam Black, won all three sessions. Brown dominated the opening session 21-6 but Orange continued to claw closer throughout the afternoon, losing 19-12 in the second and 22-18 in the third.
Clarke led all scorers in the game with 18 points, including two three-pointers, while Black added 16. Spencer Parker had a team-high 16 points for the Orange. Holmes had 12 points, including the highlight of the scrimmage, a two-handed reverse windmill dunk after being in front of the pack following a steal.
Bowling Green will play next in an exhibition game Nov. 2 when the Falcons host Malone at 2 pm in the first game of a doubleheader with the BGSU women's basketball team. The Falcons open the regular season at home a week later, hosting Earlham on Nov. 9 at 2 pm.
