Men's Golf Heads To Mexico This Week

Bowling Green will play in the Cabo del Sol Intercollegiate tournament.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University men's golf team will travel to their farthest destination of the year, playing at the Cabo del Sol Intercollegiate tournament in Cabo San Lucas, BCS, Mexico. The three-day event will begin this Sunday (Oct.6), which will be played at the Cabo Del Sol Golf Club.

Loyola Marymount, Weber State, Santa Clara, UC-Irvine, CSU-Northridge, Texas State, San Francisco, South Dakota, Seattle and Towson will all be joining Bowling Green in the field of 11 teams.
The Falcons will tee-off in the first five groups on Sunday, playing with Loyola Marymount and Weber State. The first tee-time is set to begin at 7:10 a.m.
Bowling Green are coming into the week after hosting the 13th annual John Piper Intercollegiate tournament, which was held at Stone Ridge Golf Club (Sept. 16-17). The Falcons placed fourth overall in a field of 12.
Individually, Chris Melvin had an impressive showing on their home grass. Melvin, who was the lone senior that played in the tournament, shot his second-best 54-hole score in his Falcon career, carding a 2-under (214). The three-day total placed him second overall in the field.
Second year head coach Kevin Farrell's roster features two seniors, three juniors, one sophomore and three freshman.
