Halfhill, a native of Canfield, Ohio, averaged 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and a team-leading 2.8 assists per contest as the Falcons went 3-1 during a busy week. BG picked up a 61-57 win at Butler last Monday (Nov. 18) before going 2-1 at the Basketball Hall of Fame Challenge in Columbus over the weekend. The Falcons lost to Marist, 74-60, on Friday evening (Nov. 22), but BGSU bounced back with a 77-58 win over Old Dominion on Saturday (Nov. 23). Then, the Brown and Orange led for nearly all of Sunday's (Nov. 24) game vs. host Ohio State, downing the Buckeyes by a 64-52 final at Value City Arena.
In the three games in Columbus, Halfhill led the Falcons in scoring (13.7 ppg), assists (3.0 apg) and steals (1.7 spg) while shooting 56.3 percent from three-point range. She hit 9-of-16 long-distance tries in those three games, going 9-of-18 (50.0%) on the week.
After scoring six points at Butler, Halfhill had 16 against Marist, including a 4-of-6 performance from three-point range, to tie for the team scoring lead. She added 12 points and eight rebounds in the win over Old Dominion, going 3-of-5 from long distance.
On Sunday vs. Ohio State, Halfhill had 13 points, five boards and six assists as the Falcons beat the Buckeyes for the first time since 1975. After trailing 2-0, BGSU led the rest of the way, but OSU narrowed the margin to just two points in the second half. Halfhill, however, led the Falcons on a 12-0 run, scoring the first seven points herself and then assisting on the two baskets that accounted for the other five points in that run. The result was a 14-point BGSU lead with just under 10 minutes to go, and the Buckeyes could not draw any closer than eight points over the remainder of the game.
On the season, Halfhill is averaging 12.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and a team-leading 3.3 assists per game, and she has an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.3. Halfhill has made 15 of her 33 three-point tries this year, good for a 45.5% rate.
Halfhill was named the MAC Player of the Week for the East Division. Toledo's Inma Zanoguera earned this week's MAC P-O-W award for the West Division.
Halfhill was the lone College Sports Madness P-O-W from the MAC this week, as that web site recognizes one player from each conference each Monday during the season.
The Falcons are 6-1 on the season, heading into a game vs. Monmouth next Sunday (Dec. 1) in Springfield, Mass., in BG's final contest in the Basketball Hall of Fame Challenge.
