Paige Amodio Named to MAC All-Freshman Team
November 08, 2013 | Women's Soccer
First-year Falcon started all 17 matches at a center-back spot
A native of Strongsville, Ohio (Strongsville H.S.), Amodio was one of only three BGSU players -- and the only freshman -- to start all 17 matches for the Falcons in 2013. A central defender, Amodio played a total of 1445 minutes, the second-highest total on the team.
Amodio played 971 of the team's total of 1030 minutes in MAC matches this fall.
She started the first match of her collegiate career, playing all 90 minutes in that match, at Cleveland State (Aug. 25). After playing a season-low 23 minutes in the next match, vs. Butler at Cochrane Field (Aug. 31), Amodio played every second of each of the next seven contests. She played the entirety of 13 of the Falcons' 17 matches in 2013.
The all-conference teams, all-freshman squad and specialty awards are the results of voting by the league's 12 head coaches. The complete list of award winners follows...
