Johnson, Pettigrew Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are football player Matt Johnson and track and field athlete Jeanette Pettigrew.
Male Athlete of the Week
Matt Johnson, a redshirt sophomore from Harrisburg, Pa., threw for a career-high 393 yards and five touchdowns as Bowling Green flew past No. 14 Northern Illinois 47-27 in the MAC Championship game. The five touchdown passes were a MAC Championship record and he also completed 21-of-27 passes in the contest.
Female Athlete of the Week
Jeanette Pettigrew, a senior from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, opened the 2013-14 indoor track and field season in impressive fashion, reaching the MAC automatic qualifying mark in the 60 meter dash. She ran the event in a time of 7.62 seconds in the prelims and then topped that with a 7.56 in the finals to finish second overall.
