Calhoun Named Second Team All-MAC; Crawford Honorable Mention

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University senior forward A'uston Calhoun was named Second Team All-MAC and senior point guard Jordon Crawford earned honorable mention, in voting by the league's 12 head coaches.
Calhoun was named second team All-MAC for the second consecutive season after being named honorable mention as a sophomore in 2010-11. He leads BGSU and ranks sixth in the MAC at 15.3 points per game and is also sixth in the league in rebounding at 7.2 per contest. As well, Calhoun shoots 78 percent from the free-throw line (10th in the league) and is fourth in the MAC in minutes played, at 34.0 per contest. He shoots 45 percent from the field and has become a three-point threat, making 36 percent of his long range shots, knocking down 21 on the year.
Calhoun also ranks 19th all-time at BGSU with 1,327 career points, leaving him just 29 shy of NBA Hall of Famer Nate Thurmond for 18th on the list. He also needs just three rebounds for 600 in his career.
Crawford earned honorable mention All-MAC status after ranking seventh in the league at 15.1 points per game. He is also fifth in assists (4.4 per contest) and sixth in steals (1.7 per game). Crawford's 34.8 minutes per game are the most in the conference. He is shooting 76 percent from the free-throw line and has made a team-high 52 three-pointers.
Crawford ranks among the top 10 all-time at BGSU in three statistical categories, led by assists. He is fourth all-time with 469 and is fifth in steals at 181. Crawford also has made 120 three-pointers, 10th in BGSU history.
BGSU is 13-18 on the season and finished the year with a 7-9 record in Mid-American Conference play. The Falcons, seeded No. 6 for the league tournament, hosts No. 11 seed Miami in the opening round Monday night at 7 p.m. The winner will play in the second round Wednesday at 9 p.m. at Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena.
