March 07, 2013 | General
Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University cheerleading team will host West Virginia Sunday at 1 p.m. for a STUNT game. STUNT is an emerging NCAA sport derived from cheer skills. Admission is free and doors open at 12 p.m. at the Stroh Center.
"After wrapping up college cheer nationals last month, we are excited to start our STUNT season with our home opener against West Virginia," cheerleading coach Anne Marie King said. "With over 40 universities participating in STUNT this season, our athletes are ready for the challenge of another competitive season. With a mindset to improve each season, our goal is to focus as a team and take one game at a time."
BGSU went undefeated in 2012 and is comprised of the female members of the BGSU cheer program. The Falcons will also face Michigan State and Louisville on the road and the team was ranked second in the Midwest Conference, fifth nationally and have two returning members who were named first team all-Americans a year ago. The top four nationally ranked teams receive bids to the STUNT Championships in Daytona, Fla. April 14.
