Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green cross country and track and field programs hosted the second annual Falcon 5-Miler Friday night, with more than 100 competitors taking part in the event.
Despite cold, rain and wind, 108 runners vied for the championship and Matt Folk won the race for the second consecutive year with a time of 24:57.88. Folk, a former collegiate runner who is a member of Youngstown State's Athletics Hall of Fame, finished just shy of his time of 24:44.00 from 2012, which established the Falcon 5-Miler record a year ago.
All 108 runners completed the race, which took place just before the football Spring Game, in less than one hour. The event serves as a fundraiser for the BGSU cross country and track and field programs and was established under second-year head coach Lou Snelling.
