Alyssa Nocella Named MAC Gymnast Of The Week

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green sophomore gymnast Alyssa Nocella was named the Mid-American Conference's Gymnast of the Week, as announced by the league this afternoon.
Nocella had a career-best 39.150 score in the all-around, leading Bowling Green to its second-highest team score since 2005 in a 194.600-192.525 win over Eastern Michigan Saturday. With the win, BGSU improved to 2-0 in the MAC for the first time since 2010.
Nocella scored at least 9.725 on all four apparatuses, posting a 9.800 on the balance beam and concluding with a 9.850 on the floor exercise. She also tied her career-best with a 9.775 on vault as the Falcons recorded the MAC's highest team score of the weekend.
Now 2-2 overall, Bowling Green will look to move to 3-0 in MAC competition Friday night at Ball State at 7 pm. The Falcons will be back at home to host Central Michigan Feb. 9 at 2 pm.
