Bowling Green, Ohio – With the first week of official practice all but in the books, the Bowling Green State University Athletics Department, in conjunction with the Falcon men's basketball program and head coach Chris Jans, is excited to announce the game times for the Falcons' 16 home games this season in the Stroh Center.
The Falcons will host 16 home games this season in the Stroh Center, including an exhibition contest versus Notre Dame College, and will play a total of four doubleheaders with the Falcons' women's basketball team in 2014-15.
"Falcon Fans, we need YOU to help create the best home court atmosphere in the MAC. YOU will be proud of YOUR teams' effort and energy every single game. Our guys have been working hard and they are looking forward to competing on Bill Frack Court in the beautiful Stroh Center in front of YOU this season," stated Coach Jans.
The first chance to see the new look Falcons and Coach Jans at home in the Stroh Center this season will be at the exhibition versus Notre Dame College on Friday, Nov. 7, at 4:30 p.m. This contest is part of a doubleheader exhibition with the women's team who will play at 7:30 p.m.
On that night, season ticket holders will get to take part in the Falcon Double-Double, an exclusive Season Ticket Holder Party, in which those fans with season tickets get to not only watch the two games, but also get to attend two socials – one with the men's basketball team and another with the women's basketball team on the same night!
BGSU's regular season home opener will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 4 p.m. versus regional foe Wright State.
For Thanksgiving home hoops, the Falcons will host Southeast Missouri St. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m., so make sure to bring your entire family to the game to cheer on the Falcons.
Coach Jans and his squad will host three games in the month of December, as BGSU will play non-conference contests versus Alabama A&M on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m., regional foe Cleveland State on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 4 p.m. and Ferris State on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 1 p.m., before tipping-off the new year at home versus Chicago State on Saturday, Jan. 3, at 7 p.m. in the Stroh.
The Jan. 3 contest versus Chicago State at 7 p.m. will follow the women's game versus Ball State at 4 p.m.
With the non-conference slate ending with the early January game versus the Panthers, BGSU's conference home slate tips-off with fellow East Divisional foe Ohio, on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 4 p.m.
After three straight MAC home games versus West Divisional foes Ball State on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 4 p.m., Eastern Michigan on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. and Northern Illinois on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 7p.m., the Falcons will welcome inner divisional rival Akron to the Stroh Center on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m.
The Akron game on Jan. 31 is part of a huge doubleheader with the women's team who will be hosting Toledo earlier in the day at 4 p.m.
The defending 2013-14 MAC Tournament Champions will come to town on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m., as the Falcons will host the Broncos of Western Michigan, who BGSU defeated in Kalamazoo, Michigan last season.
MAC East foes Miami, Buffalo and Kent State will round out the final three home contests of the regular season for the Falcons, as Miami will visit BG on Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 7 p.m., followed by the Buffalo Bulls on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. The Buffalo game will be the first of two basketball contests on Saturday afternoon, as the women's team will follow with a 5 p.m. tip-off after the conclusion of the men's game.
Kent State will come to the Stroh on Tuesday, Mar. 3, at 7 p.m., where the Falcons have never lost to the Golden Flashes.
