Huth Named to the Capital One Academic All-District Second-Team

Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University senior forward Sidney Huth was named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Women's Soccer District 5 Second-Team, it was announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA).
The 2014 Capital One Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Capital One has been the entitlement rights holder to CoSIDA's Academic All-America teams programs since 2011.
Huth, who played in 16 games this season as a senior for the Falcons, is an Applied Health Science major at the University and has a cumulative grade point average of 3.95 during her time at BGSU. She is also a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma student-athlete honors society and was an Academic All-MAC Team member in 2012 and an honorable mention Academic All-MAC Team selection last season.
On the pitch this season, Huth has played in 16 games overall, scoring two goals and picking up two assists on the year. On Sept. 8, Huth was named the MAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, as she helped lead the Falcons to an 8-0 win over Chicago State.
For her career, Huth has played in 65 games during her four-years as a Falcon, logging over 2,100 minutes on the field overall. She has totaled seven goals and five assists at BGSU and has also posted a shots on goal percentage of 47.5 percent overall.
The Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the second year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-America ® Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
The Capital One Division II and III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2014-15 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams program.

About the Capital One Academic All-America® Program
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
