2014-15 Gymnastics Schedule
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics program, led by 2013 Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year Kerrie Turner, has released its full schedule for the 2014-15 season.
"I have no doubt that this schedule will give our program the opportunity to achieve wins and excellent scores both at home and on the road," said Turner. "I look forward to building on our success from last season."
The Orange and Brown will compete in six Mid-American Conference meets, while hosting a total of five meets and welcoming two Big Ten Conference opponents to Anderson Arena.
"We are thrilled to bring in a high level of competition into historic Anderson Arena, as we will be hosting Michigan State in January and Ohio State in February," said Turner. "We also have a great opportunity to travel to Tennessee, New Jersey and our nation's capital for non-conference meets."
Coming off their best finish at the MAC Championships in 22 years, the Falcons will welcome Michigan State to town to open the season on Jan. 10. BGSU will also host Ohio State Feb. 6, Ball State Feb. 8, Western Michigan Feb. 28 and Kent State – the defending regular-season MAC champions – March 14.
The Falcons will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. to take part in the Ozone Collegiate Classic on Jan. 17, along with Alaska Anchorage, Brigham Young and UW-Whitewater. Bowling Green will compete in a tri-meet at George Washington with Pittsburgh on Feb. 1, while also making a late-season trip to Rutgers on March 7 to wrap up non-conference play.
Within the conference, Bowling Green will open MAC competition at Eastern Michigan on Jan. 24, before hosting Ball State Feb. 8. Trips to Northern Illinois Feb. 15 and Central Michigan Feb. 22 will then await BGSU, prior to conference play closing with home meets against Western Michigan Feb. 28 and Kent State March 14. The MAC Championships will take place on March 21 at Kent State.
"The 2015 season is packed with great competition, and we can't wait to get started!" said Turner.
Turner returns two All-Conference selections to this year's team in junior Alyssa Nocella and sophomore Lauren Feely. Last year's MAC vault champion, senior Amanda Lievendag, also returns to a squad that welcomes nine freshman into the fold in 2015.
