Denny, Hoekstra Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player Zack Denny and women's basketball player Deborah Hoekstra.
Male Athlete of the Week
Zack Denny, a sophomore from Germantown, Ohio, logged a team-high 37.0 minutes per game, averaging 15.0 points on 61.1 percent shooting from the floor against Dayton and Cleveland State. He made 4-of-7 three-pointers and also averaged 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per contest. Denny had 16 points, six rebounds and three steals in 38 minutes at Dayton before posting 14 points with a career-best nine rebounds in 36 minutes against Cleveland State.
Female Athlete of the Week
Deborah Hoekstra, a senior from East Lansing, Mich., scored a career-best 22 points in the team's 76-62 win over Saint Francis (Pa.). She was 8-of-11 from the field and made 4-of-6 three-pointers. Hoekstra also tied her career-high with six rebounds and added three assists without a turnover. She tied personal bests in field goals made and three-point field goals made.
