LAST TIME THEY MET
Date: Jan. 26, 2013
Location: Toledo, Ohio (Savage Arena)
Score: Toledo, 75-62
Notes: Jordon Crawford scored 20 points and Luke Kraus added a season-high 12, but the Bowling Green men's basketball team lost to rival Toledo for the first time since the 2007-08 MAC Tournament, falling 75-62 Saturday night in front of 6,361 fans at Savage Arena. Toledo made 26-of-27 free-throws and fought off a handful of BGSU second-half rallies to keep the Falcons winless on the road this year. Crawford had seven assists to go with his 20 points and A'uston Calhoun added 13 points despite playing limited minutes in the first half with foul trouble. Although BGSU went into the break trailing 28-22, the Falcons were able to strike even though Calhoun and Chauncey Orr combined to play only 18 minutes after each picked up a pair of early fouls. As well, Toledo was a perfect 10-of-10 at the free-throw line in the opening 20 minutes while BGSU did not get to the stripe until midway through the second half. Toledo, though, shot 56 percent in the second half after BGSU held the Rockets to just 36 percent in the first half. Toledo built its biggest lead of the contest at 40-28 on a Josh Lemons bank shot with 14:30 to play in the contest. The Falcons answered with six in a row on baskets by Orr, Calhoun and Crawford, but Toledo pushed the lead back to 10 with baskets from Rian Pearson and Julius Brown. The Rockets eventually took another 12 point lead at 50-38 before another Falcon rally. This time Calhoun had a dunk followed by a Kraus three-pointer to make it 50-43. But Toledo answered again with two free-throws and a dunk by Pearson. Kraus knocked down another three-pointer and Crawford hit a jumper as BGSU got within six at 54-48 with 7:09 to play. Toledo turned the ball over on its next possession, but Calhoun missed a jumper and the Falcons never had a chance to get that close again. The Rockets used a 9-2 run over the next three minutes to take a 63-50 lead as BGSU did not threaten again. Toledo held a 37-25 rebounding advantage to overcome 13 turnovers, three more than BGSU. While the Falcons shot 50 percent in the second half, the team made just 5-of-20 three-pointers on the night.

LAST TIME OUT
Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Falcons acquired double-doubles from Richaun Holmes and Jehvon Clarke, as well as a career-high 23 points from Spencer Parker, to erase a double digit deficit and defeat the Buffalo Bulls 74-68 on Sunday afternoon in the Stroh Center. BGSU's Clarke posted his first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 10 rebounds and was just one assist shy of a triple-double with nine assists. Holmes recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while also adding five blocks, while Parker poured in a career-high 23 points, as he was 10-of-14 from the free throw line in 39 minutes of play. BGSU had a huge lift off the bench, particularly in the second half, as starters Anthony Henderson and Cameron Black each were sidelined for most of the final 20 minutes of play with foul trouble. Josh Gomez and JD Tisdale both logged over 20 minutes of action, contributing with nine points, six rebounds, three steals and a block during their time on the court. Buffalo was led by Javon McCrea's double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Will Regan and Joshua Freelove both had the hot-hand from downtown, combining for 33 points on seven three-point baskets. In what was a tight contest from start to finish that increased in both intensity and tension as the clock ticked down, BGSU tied the score up six times over the final 20 minutes of play and took its first lead of the contest since the opening minutes of the game at 49-47 on a layup from Parker with 13:13 to go in the game. The next five minutes saw only one tie, as the Falcons tied the game up once more at 53-53, yet the Bulls continued to remain out in front with a slight lead until back-to-back three-pointers from the left corner from Freelove pushed the visitors out in front by seven at 65-58 with just 6:54 to go in regulation. The Falcons then used the free throw line to get back into the contest, as Clarke and Parker knocked down four straight shots from the charity stripe, while Holmes added a spinning layup from the right block to put the home team down just two at 66-64 with 3:06 to play. The next two possessions proved critical in the outcome of the contest, as Buffalo's McCrea was whistled for a traveling violation on the offensive end and then called for his fifth and final foul on the defensive end on the ensuing BGSU possession which did not sit well with the Buffalo bench. Buffalo's head coach Bobby Hurley was called for a technical foul which gave the Falcons four free throw attempts and the chance to take the lead down just two at 66-64. The Falcons' Parker calmly stepped up to the line and hit both of the technical free throws to tie the score up at 66-66, while Holmes converted on 1-of-2 from the line on the foul call to put BGSU up one at 67-66. Bowling Green continued its offensive surge with a free throw from Clarke and a fast break layup from Parker to cap the 11-0 run and extend its lead to six at 72-66 with less than 30 seconds to go in the contest. BGSU got two more defensive stops and hit 2-of-4 free throws in the final seconds of the game to secure the 74-68 come from behind win over the Bulls.
ONE MORE FOR ORR
Coach Louis Orr has currently amassed 199 career wins as a head coach at his three posts (BGSU, Seton Hall and Siena) and is only one win shy of 200 career victories. Coach Orr is also only one way from amassing his 100th career win at BGSU.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
For the first time in over two years, the Falcons had two players each post a double-double in the same game. Richaun Holmes (16 points / 10 rebs.) and Jehvon Clarke (11 points / 11 rebs.) each posted a double-double for BGSU in the 74-68 win over Buffalo on Feb. 2.
ONE DIME SHY OF A TRIPLE-DOUBLE
Junior guard Jehvon Clarke posted his first career double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Buffalo on Feb. 2, but he was also only one assist shy of recording the first triple-double of his career as he dished out nine helpers in the win. The last Falcon to register a triple-double was Nate Miller against Buffalo back on Feb. 13, 2007.
CLEANING THE GLASS
Junior Richaun Holmes and Jehvon Clarke became the first BGSU duo since 2011-12 to each post 10 rebounds or more in the same game. Both Holmes and Clarke had 10 rebounds apiece in the Falcons' win over Buffalo on Feb. 2. The last tandem to do that was Oglesby and Thomas against UTSA back on Jan. 1, 2012.
GETTING TO THE LINE
Aggressive play has aided the Falcons this season, as BGSU is 7-1 on the year when making more free throws than its opponent for the game. Overall BGSU is 57-20 under head coach Louis Orr when hitting more free throws than its foes over the last six + seasons.
WORKING OVERTIME ON THE FLOOR
A number of BGSU players in Jehvon Clarke, Anthony Henderson, Damarkeo Lyshe and Spencer Parker have all logged more minutes this season alone than they had for their entire careers prior to this year.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE THE FREE THROW LINE MAKES
The Falcons have been up and down all season long at the free throw line as a team. In BGSU's 10 wins this season, the Falcons have shot 69.3 percent from the charity stripe. However, in their 11 losses the Falcons have hit on only 56.3 percent of the free throw attempts. In fact, in BGSU's three-game winning streak earlier this month, the Falcons as a team shot 76.0 percent from the line and most recently shot 69.7 percent from there in its win over Buffalo last time out.
COMEBACK KIDS
In each of the Falcons last three wins - at Western Michigan, at Ohio and versus Buffalo at home - BGSU has erased a double digit deficit. At Western Michigan, BGSU came back from a 15-point deficit in the second half to earn a 69-64 win. Versus Ohio, the Falcons overcame an 11 point first half lead to upend the Bobcats 58-56, and at home against Buffalo, BGSU overcame a 10 point first half deficit to storm back for a 74-68 win.
FOUR SCORES ... IN MAC PLAY

HISTORICAL ROAD WINS
With their back-to-back road wins at Western Michigan and at Ohio, the Falcons posted wins at Kalamazoo, Mich. and at Athens, Ohio for the first time in the same year since the 1990-91 season.
ROAD TRIUMPHS IN 2013-14
Bowling Green has posted three road wins this season - at Morehead State, at Western Michigan and at Ohio - which triples is win total in true road games last season. Prior to last season, the Falcons won only four road games in each of the previous two years.

Four of BGSU's six lowest total points output per half this season (18, 19, 19, 21) have come in the first half of play.
KEEPERS OF THE RIM: BLOCK BROTHERS

Both Holmes (136) and Black (132) are already in the top-three all-time at BGSU in career blocked shots.

Last season, Holmes set a new BGSU single-season record with 73 blocks on the season overall and this year is on pace to break that record as he is averaging 3.0 blocks per game.

Over his last four-plus seasons, BGSU has scored 20 or more points in the paint in 131-of-154 games. BGSU has scored a high of 58 points in the paint twice during that span, including 58 points in a win versus Earlham in the season opener.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
In the last two years, the Stroh Center has proven to be a difficult place for opponents to play. The Falcons went 23-9 at home over the last two years, including posting a 3-0 mark at home in 2011-12 against teams that eventually went to the NCAA Tournament. Overall, the Falcons are 29-14 in the Stroh Center, which comes out to a .674 winning percentage.
