Bowling Green, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team will square off with the Western Michigan University women's golf team in a team versus team stroke play dual match on Thursday, April 21st, at the Glendarin Hills Golf Club in Angola, Indiana.
The WMU vs. BGSU Dual Match, which was recently added to the 2014 spring schedule, will feature stroke play in which each team will compete with a lineup of five golfers. The team scores will then consist of the four lowest scores of the five players. The team with the lowest 18-hole score will win the dual.
The Falcons are coming off the heels of the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational this past weekend in which one team earned a third-place finish and another BGSU squad took 14th-place overall.
Head coach Stephanie Young will send out the team of Lily Bartell, Bailey Arnold, Patricia Holt, Mikayla Baer and Hannah Lewis to battle the Broncos.
Bartell earned medalist honors and her first-ever intercollegiate win last weekend at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational with her two-round combined score of 151, +7. The sophomore turned in rounds of 76 and 75 to earn the win by a single stroke. Bartell has registered four top-four finishes thus far this season, including having finished in the top-four in each of the last two events she has played in for the month of April.
Arnold heads into play on Thursday having shot back-to-back rounds of 81 at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational to finish in a tie for 21st overall with a score of 162, +18.
