BGSU Women’s Golf Turns in Solid Second Round on Saturday

, as the freshman went from a first round 88, +16, on Friday, to a 75, +3, on Saturday, an improvement of 13 strokes overall. Baer, who carded two birdies over her second round of play, finds herself in a tie for 35th-place overall with her combined two-round score of 163, +19.
BGSU's Bailey Arnold carded her second straight round of 83, +11, on Saturday, as the senior is in a tie for 39th-place with her combined score of 166, +22, heading into the final day of play of the championships on Sunday. Arnold is tied for the team lead with four birdies over the first two days of the event, posting two on each day of play.
Kent State leads after the first two rounds of play with rounds of 296 and 299 for a combined team score of 595, +19, while Toledo is in second-place overall with a combined team score of 607, +31, off of rounds of 302 and 305.
Rounding out the top-five on the team leaderboard is Northern Illinois (614, +38) in third, Eastern Michigan (616, +40) in fourth and Akron (624, +48) in fifth-place overall.
Eastern Michigan's Karyn Lee Ping holds the 36-hole lead with rounds of 73 and 72 for an individual score of 145, +1, only one stroke ahead of Jenna Hague of Ball State who is in second-place with her combined score of 146, +2.
Nine total golfers are within five strokes of each other at the top of the leaderboard.
Kent State's Jennifer Ha shot a 69, -3 under par, in the second round to match the lowest round in MAC Championships history. It had previously been done seven times, most recently by Ball State's Hague in the final round of the 2012 event.
The third and final round of play at the 2014 conference championships is set for an 8 a.m. start on Sunday morning. The Falcons will be in the first five set of pairings.
