BGSU Men’s Basketball Adds Rasheed Worrell

Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University has added another recruit for the 2014 class in Rasheed Worrell, announced head coach Chris Jans.
Worrell is a 6-8, 205 pound forward from Coker, Alabama where he played at Sipsey Valley High School and for both the Alabama Celtics and the Alabama Magic AAU teams. He originally signed a National Letter of Intent with Appalachian State in November, but was released due to a coaching change.
Worrell received multiple offers before committing to the Falcons including Mississippi State, Loyola-Chicago, Murray State and Western Kentucky.
Tabbed as a Second-Team Class 3A All-State selection in 2013-14, the athletic and versatile forward averaged 14.2 points, 11.4 rebounds, 3.3 blocks, 2.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game his senior season in which Sipsey Valley High went 22-9 overall and posted its second straight 20-win season.
Worrell averaged 15.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as a junior where he connected on 53.8 percent of his field-goal attempts and blocked more than 100 shots en route to 2012-13 All-State Honorable Mention accolades.
Worrell joins fellow 2014 recruits David "Pepe" Joseph (Queens, N.Y./Howard College (Texas) and Delvin Dickerson (Houston, Texas/Paris Junior College).
