Ross will be a sophomore in the 2014-15 academic year, and will have three years of eligibility remaining. Baeron will be a freshman and will have four years of eligibility at BGSU.
"We are excited about these final additions to our roster," said Basalyga. "Both Elisa and Kara bring diversity to our program filling defensive and attacking roles, and they also have an extra year under their belt, bringing maturity to our young roster. Both players are expected to come in and compete for playing time immediately."
Baeron, a native of Selsingen, Lower Saxony, Germany, graduated from St.-Viti-Gymnasium Zeven in 2013. She played club ball for SV Ahlerstedt/Ottendorf. Her uncle, Karsten Baeron, played soccer for HSV in the top tier of the German football league system, and he also played for the national U21 team.
Ross, a native of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada (Governor Simcoe), joins BGSU after spending a year at Brock University in her hometown. Ross led the Badgers in goals in her lone season there, with four. Ross scored the lone goal of the match in the team's win over Guelph in late September, and she had a pair of goals in a 3-2 loss to McMaster in the final match of the fall. At Governor Simcoe, Ross played soccer, volleyball and basketball. On the pitch, she was captain of her U18 UYSL team, and she played club ball for the St. Catharines Jets. Ross also played club volleyball with the Niagara Rapids.
Baeron and Ross bring the number of BGSU women's soccer newcomers to 14. Basalyga announced the addition of nine student-athletes – Mikaela Couch, Skylar Fleak, Sarah Harmer, Adelle Hobson, Erica Hubert, Sarah Quimby, Leah Runkle, Madison Schupbach and Rachel Winters – in February. And, Alexa Cheripko, Evelina Hellgren and Alexis Smith were added to the roster in May.
The Falcons lose the services of six seniors from the 2013 active roster.
