CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced their Academic All-MAC selections for baseball on Monday afternoon, and Bowling Green State University seniors Cody Apthorpe and T.J. Losby were among those honored. Selection for the Academic All-MAC team was based on criteria in the classroom and on the playing field. Student-athletes must have played in at least 50-percent of their team's games and held over a 3.2 cumulative grade point average to be eligible.

2014: Was a team captain for the third consecutive season … started nine games on the season, making 12 total appearances … was the opening day starter for the third consecutive season … opened the season by pitching 5.1 innings at Belmont, while not allowing an earned run … scattered just three hits in that game, but was tagged as the tough-luck loser … pitched a season-high 6.0 innings in a game at Georgia Tech, striking out two while allowing just three runs … picked up the win at Murray State, when he pitched 4.0 innings before reaching his pitch count limit … struck out a season-high four batters in that game … made his final career appearance on May 17 at Buffalo, retiring the side in order while striking out one in his inning of work.

2014: Played in and started all 52 games, finishing his career with 160 consecutive games played … batted .319 with 36 runs batted in and 26 runs scored … named First Team All-MAC at catcher … earned Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Year … finished his career with more putouts (1,082) than anybody else in school history … finished sixth in career at bats with 648 … had 17 multi-hit games, including a five-hit game on Apr. 6 vs. Western Michigan … had eight multi-RBI games … had a streak of 22 consecutive games which he reached base in, spanning from Apr. 5 to May 11 … had two hits and three RBI on Feb. 15 at Belmont … had three hits in a win on Mar. 9 at High Point … was 5-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored on Apr. 6 against WMU … had three hits on Apr. 8 vs. Toledo … had 13 hits during an eight-game hitting streak from Apr. 11-25 … threw out 13-of-29 runners attempting to steal, while only making four errors for a .989 fielding percentage … had an on-base percentage of .396 and a slugging percentage of .405 … had nine doubles, two triples and a home run … walked 22 times.
Seven other student-athletes received honorable mention from the Mid-American Conference. Those seven were Andrew Kubuski (3.673, Special Education), Jason Link 3.273 (Sport Management), Ethan McKenney (3.236, Finance), Chris Miller (3.575, Marketing), Ben Singer (3.690, Biology), Jake Thomas (3.321, Health Science), and Logan Walker (3.388, Exercise Science).
