Falcon Baseball Holds Annual Super Bowl Raffle Fundraiser

The Bowling Green State University baseball program held their annual Super Bowl Raffle over the weekend, a fundraiser the team puts on each season. Over 1,000 tickets were sold, with the top winner taking home $1,500. In total, 25 prizes were given out, ranging from Falcon baseball gear, game-worn jerseys, and tickets to BGSU basketball and hockey games.
Five grand prizes were awarded after the first 20 prizes were handed out. The 5th prize was won by Jodi Derksheide (sold by Dustin Peper), the winner of Toledo Mud Hens and Toledo Walleye tickets, plus $25. Four tickets to a Cleveland Indians game and $50 was won by Colette Boyd (sold by Jevon Boyd) as the 4th prize. 3rd prize was won by Dan Price - the winner of four tickets to a Cincinnati Reds game and $50. The 2nd prize was four tickets to a Tigers game and $50, which was won by Dr. Frank Pace (sold by Matt Smith). The top prize - $1,500 cash - was won by Doug Cubberly (also sold by Dustin Peper).
"We are thankful to all of our loyal alumni, friends, and family who supported our Falcon baseball program through our Super Bowl Raffle event this season," head coach Danny Schmitz stated. "This is always an exciting event which allows us to reconnect with our alumni and friends of the program before the season gets started. Thank you to everyone who participated in the event which will help BGSU Baseball during the upcoming season!"
Falcon baseball begins the 2015 season in just 24 days, when they take on Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
