Holmes, Griffin Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player Richaun Holmes and swimmer Victoria Griffin.
Male Athlete of the Week
Richaun Holmes, a senior from Lockport, Ill., averaged 13.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game over the past week, scoring in double-digits in both contests. He had 13 points and 10 rebounds in the home win over Eastern Michigan, adding three assists, three blocked shots and two steals. Despite being hampered by foul trouble Saturday at Toledo, he had 14 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
Female Athlete of the Week
Victoria Griffin, a sophomore from Littlestown, Pa., won two individual events and two relays in the swim/dive team's victory over defending MAC Champion Akron Friday night. Griffin won the 50 and 100 freestyle. She remained unbeaten in the 50 freestyle this year, where she is ranked second in the MAC. She is ranked No. 1 in the conference in the 100 freestyle.
