Sholl, Hoekstra Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are hockey player Tomas Sholl and women's basketball player Deborah Hoekstra.

Male Athlete of the Week
Tomas Sholl, a sophomore from Hermosa Beach, Calif., turned away 34 shots as the BGSU Hockey team defeated #19 Robert Morris 4-1 Sunday evening. Sholl shut out the Colonials over the final two periods, saving 26 shots in the final 40 minutes of play. He backstopped the Falcons' perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill, making several diving saves.

Female Athlete of the Week
Deborah Hoekstra, a senior from East Lansing, Mich., averaged 9.7 points and a team-best 6.7 rebounds in three games on the week. Hoekstra had a career-best nine rebounds against FIU Tuesday and then matched that today Saturday against Ball State. She was named to the all-tournament team at the FIU Sun & Fun Classic.
