Bowling Green, Ohio - A tandem of Bowling Green State University women's soccer standouts in redshirt-sophomore Lauren Cadel and freshman Skylar Fleak have been named to the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) All-Ohio Team. Cadel was named to the All-Ohio First Team, while Fleak earned All-Ohio Second-Team honors.
Both Cadel and Fleak are on the All-Ohio Team for the first time for their careers.
Cadel was named to the 2014 All-MAC Second Team and also earned a spot on the 2014 Academic All-MAC Team this season. Tabbed the MAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 20, the BGSU goalkeeper was ranked by TopDrawerSoccer.com as the No. 16 overall women's soccer player in the Mid-American Conference during the preseason. Cadel did not disappoint, as she led the MAC and was third among all NCAA Division I goalkeepers with 146 saves on the season. Her 146 total saves on the year was a new BGSU single-season record. The redshirt-sophomore also led the conference and was fifth in the nation with 8.11 saves per game. She ranked third in the conference and 43rd in the nation with a saves percentage of .834 on the year, which is the fourth best in BGSU history. Staring and playing in all 18 games for the Falcons, totaling 1,535:25 minutes in goal on the season, Cadel tallied a 1.70 goals against average on the year and posted four shutouts on the season. Cadel also registered double digit saves in six different matches on the season, tying her own record of the most by a BGSU 'keeper in a single season in school history, which included a career-high 14 saves in the 2-1 win over Ohio on Oct. 17.
Cadel already ranks fourth on the BGSU career saves list with 255 stops, while her 12 career matches with double digit saves per outing is also a BGSU school record.
Fleak made an immediate impact for the Falcons in her first season at BGSU in 2014, as she earned a spot on the 2014 MAC All-Freshman Team. Making her first career start in the season opener versus Morehead State on Aug. 22, Fleak led the team and ranked fifth in the MAC with 56 shots on the season and was fourth in the League with an average of 3.29 shots per game, also a team-high. The forward posted a team-high five goals on the year, two of which were game-winning goals, and led the team with 11 points on the season. She also recorded one assist, which came in the season opener versus Morehead State. The freshman notched her first career goal against Cleveland State on Sept. 5 and also added a goal at Chicago State on Sept. 7 and at Buffalo on Oct. 3. Fleak posted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 overtime win at Akron on Oct. 5 and registered the game-winner in the 1-0 win over Kent State at home on Oct. 19.
