They Said It
"The Pittsburgh Invite will be a great midseason meet for the team," head coach Matt Ense said about this weekend. "We pushed ourselves really hard this week in the water and will see what kind of times we can put up this weekend. The meet will allow us a unique opportunity to swim long course meters in prelims and come back and swim short course yards in the evening. Anytime you have an opportunity to compete in a great facility and compete against some strong teams in a prelim/final format. You have to take advantage of your opportunities in the morning to secure a lane in the finals."

Falcons Split Dual Meet At Michigan State
Swimming against two strong programs last week in East Lansing, Bowling Green pulled out a win against Cincinnati of the American Athletic Conference. Despite strong performances all night long, the battle with the Spartans of Michigan State came down to the final relay where the Falcons were unable to pull off the victory. BGSU is now 3-1 on the season in dual meets.
Â
Griffin Gains Victory Against All-American
Victoria Griffin (Littlestown, Pa.) is off to a strong start in her junior year this season and continued that early-season success with an impressive meet against Cincinnati and Michigan State. Swimming against Cincinnati's All-America recipient Jackie Kiere, Griffin was able to pull off a win in the 100 free with a season-best time of 50.46. Griffin also swam a season-best time of 1:49.86 in the 200 free, despite Keire edging her out in the meet.

Wohlert Wins Again
In the meet against Cincinnati/Michigan State, Franziska Wohlert was one of two Falcons to win multiple events. A sophomore, Wohlert won both the 200 back and 200 IM events. Her 200 back time of 2:01.66 was a season-best, while she finished in 2:06.56 in the 200 IM. Wohlert has won multiple events in each of the Falcons' three meets this season.
Â
Carrillo Picks Up Two Wins
Senior Daniela Carrillo has shined in the early season, picking up two more victories against both Cincinnati and Michigan State last weekend. Carrillo took home the first win of the night for BGSU in the meet's fifth event, swimming the 100 breast in a time of 1:04.16. Carrillo won the 200 breast with a time of 2:19.33. This was the second meet this season that Carrillo has won multiple events for the Orange and Brown.
Â
Looking Ahead
Following the weekend at the Pittsburgh Invitational, the Falcons will participate in two meets the first weekend in December. Carrillo, Griffin, Wohlert and Kristin Filby will head to the USA LCM Championships while the rest of the team will head to Akron for the Zippy Invitational.
