Eight Falcons Tabbed Academic All-MAC

Cleveland, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team had a total of eight student-athletes named to the 2015 Women's Soccer Academic All-MAC team, announced by the league office the morning of Nov. 24.
BGSU's Paige Amodio, Lauren Cadel, Alexa Cheripko, Jessica Creech, Haley Parkinson, Kara Ross, Madison Schupbach and Rachel Winters all received a spot on the team. There were 126 total student-athletes from around the conference named to the team.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in both athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
Paige Amodio, Junior, Health Science, 3.677 grade point average
Amodio received her second Academic All-MAC selection this season. She played in 12 games this season, starting nine of those contests. The junior recorded 941 minutes on the pitch with eight shots, four of which were on goal. She played 62 minutes in the team's 3-0 shutout win over Akron.
Lauren Cadel, Redshirt-Junior, Biology, 3.818
Cadel has earned All-MAC recognition for the third straight season. She received two MAC Defensive Player of the Week awards this season coming on Sept. 14 and Oct. 5. Cadel started all 18 games that she played in, logging almost 1521 minutes between the posts. The redshirt-junior finished the season with a conference-high 113 saves. This is her third straight year posting over 100 saves. She boasts a 0.807 save percentage, allowing just 27 goals on 328 shots faced. The Canada native sits atop of the BGSU record books with 15 career games with double digit saves, and set a new school record against Valparaiso with 19 saves. She ranked 13th nationally in total saves following BGSU's last game of the season on Oct. 29 against Eastern Michigan.
Alexa Cheripko, Junior, Biology, 4.000
Cheripko played in all 19 games, starting nine of those matches. She logged 672 minutes while recording three goals and one assist. Her first score of the season came against Chicago State and she scored her second and third goals against Akron. Five of her nine shots of the season were on frame.
Jessica Creech, Junior, Health Science, 3.857
Creech picked up her second Academic All-MAC honor this season. She played 524 minutes in 2015, starting six of the 12 games she participated in. The junior's assists both came against Eastern Illinois, where the Falcons defeated the Panthers 3-2 on the road. Creech had six shots on goal this season (12 total). She played all 90 minutes of BGSU's first shutout win of the season against Chicago State on Aug. 21.
Haley Parkinson, Midfield, Senior, Finance, 3.237
Parkinson received All-MAC recognition for the third straight season. Parkinson, who started all 19 games, scored one goal against IPFW this season and added assists against Findlay, Eastern Illinois, Miami and Akron for a total of six points. The senior logged 1703 minutes on the pitch and played all 90 minutes in three of the team's four shutouts. She was awarded the "Fighting Falcon" award from the BGSU coaching staff and her teammates.
Kara Ross, BGSU, Junior, Pre exercise science, 3.718
Ross played in 14 games, making two starts on the pitch. Her three goals (Findlay, Buffalo and Ohio) and two assists (Buffalo, Western Michigan) gave her eight points on the season, which tied for fourth on the team. She finished the 2015 season with 428 logged minutes.
Madison Schupbach, Midfield, Sophomore, Pre-BS in Business Administration, 3.416
Schupbach contributed 1462 minutes in 19 starts for the Falcons. She scored goals against Chicago State, Eastern Illinois and Ohio, also added assists against Findlay and EIU. The sophomore's eight points tied her for fourth on the team.
Rachel Winters, Sophomore, Pre-BS in Business Administration, 3.464
Winters logged a team-high 1737 minutes in 19 starts for Bowling Green. The sophomore played in every minute of all four Falcon shutout wins this season against Chicago State, IPFW and Findlay, as well as conference foe Akron.
