Full Day One Results
Akron, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University track and field team competed in limited events at the Akron Invitational Friday night, competing just four times over three events. The Falcons will have a heavier day Saturday during the conclusion of the meet.
Senior Krystin Reiser scored 3,353 points in the pentathlon, competing in the event for the first time during this indoor season. That point total is 119 shy of her total at the MAC Championships a year ago, a mark that stands fourth in BGSU history. Freshman Sydnee Matthew scored 3,036 points in her first collegiate pentathlon.
The meet was broken up into gold and blue divisions for many events, with gold divisions being the elite field. Redshirt sophomore Kori Reiser competed in the gold division for the discus and threw 142-feet-10 to place fourth. Although it is not a championship event during the indoor season, Reiser showed the potential that allowed her to advance to NCAA Regionals in the event a year ago as a freshman.
Freshman Kyla Paster competed in the blue division of the long jump, finishing third with a mark of 17-feet-8.
The Akron Invitational is scheduled to begin at 9 am Saturday.
