Mackenzie McMillin Interview
Bowling Green, Ohio –  With just over two weeks until the first meet of the season, the Bowling Green State University men's and women's cross country teams  returned to campus this week and had their first official practice of the season Monday afternoon.
"We're just trying to do a lot of different things at this point, assess where we're at is one of the biggest things in the terms of how well the summer went," Â Head Coach Lou Snelling said. "We'll be spending a lot of time meeting this week, individual meetings and team meetings."
The men's team has one junior and three sophomores returning this season in Brent Darah, Nathan Kuck, Kohl Taberner and Nick Voth. The newcomers to the team this year are Jonathan Anderson, Dakota Brunsman, Paul Garbarino, Tyler Phillips, Kyle Repetto, Noah Schaub, Jacob Schenten, Zane Sturts and Jonathan Wenning. The team is young and eager to take the course to show off the work they put in during the offseason.
The women's veteran team has four seniors, one  junior, five sophomores, two redshirt freshmen and two incoming freshmen this season giving them the most experience compared to years past. Returning this year for the Falcons are Andrea Alt, Cassandra Boyle, Rachel Durbin, Allison Francis, Amanda Garlak, Elena Lancioni, Mackenzie McMillin, Jody Musser, Becca Rae, Jasmine Redman, Rebecca Schott and Rachel Walny. The two newcomers are Kelsie Mothersead and Madeline Wesley.
"It went really well. We're all really excited to be running together again. A lot of our training in the summer is alone so it's nice when we're all together again, we all work off each other…run a little faster than we're used to. It feels good," stated McMillin.
The Falcons are set to open the year with the Mel Brodt Collegiate Invitational Sept. 4 at home.
