MAC Releases 2015 Cross Country Coaches Polls

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference men and women's cross country coaches have made their predictions for the 2015 season, as the official 2015 MAC Men & Women's Cross Country Coaches Preseason Poll was announced today. The Bowling Green State University women's cross country team was picked to finish fourth, while the men's team was selected ninth.
In the women's poll, defending MAC champion Toledo is the favorite to win the conference, while Eastern Michigan was selected to repeat on the men's side.
Following Toledo in the women's poll was Eastern Michigan and Miami, just ahead of BGSU. Central Michigan, Western Michigan and Northern Illinois follow the Falcons. Buffalo was picked eighth, with Kent State, Ohio, Akron and Ball State rounding out the poll.
On the men's side, Akron was selected second behind EMU, followed by Central Michigan, Buffalo, Miami, Ohio, Kent State, Toledo and Bowling Green.

The teams open their season Friday, Sept. 4 at home with the annual Mel Brodt Collegiate Open against Toledo and Cleveland State. The men begin the 5,000-meter race at 6:30 pm and the women will race the same distance at 7 pm.
