BGSU's four game dates include three at Meserve Field
Bowling Green State University softball coach Sarah Willis has announced her team's fall schedule. The Falcons will play on four dates during the month of October, with three of the four events taking place at BGSU's Meserve Field.

"Individual and small-group workouts have been going well, and the team is coming together nicely," said Willis. "We are looking forward to our competitions in October, which will provide valuable in-game experience as well as help us continue to grow and improve as a team."
The Falcons will begin the fall slate with a pair of games at the 15th annual Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic in Columbus on Saturday, Oct. 3. The event is one of the largest fundraisers for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in central Ohio.
In that tourney, BGSU will take on arch-rival Toledo in a 10:30 a.m. start, and the Brown and Orange will play Dayton immediately after. Both Willis and assistant coach Tiffany Ricks were with the UD program last season, as Willis was an assistant coach and Ricks a senior first baseman. Ricks was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year as the Flyers posted the best season in program history.
The following weekend will see the Falcons host twinbills on back-to-back days. BGSU will face Owens Community College in a Saturday (Oct. 10) doubleheader, with first pitch of game one scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Then, the following afternoon (Sunday, Oct. 11), the Falcons face Findlay in a DH that is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m.
The next Sunday (Oct. 18) also sees BG taking the field for a noon doubleheader. The Falcons will close the fall portion of the schedule with the Orange/Brown Scrimmage, playing a pair of intrasquad games at Meserve Field.
Willis is in her first year with the Falcons after taking the BGSU head-coaching job on July 1, 2015. She and her staff – assistant coaches Brittany Lastrapes, Ricks and Kolleen Kopchak – have 19 returnees on the 25-player roster for 2015-16. That list includes 10 players who started 10 or more games last season. Six freshmen have joined the program for the '15-16 academic year.
