NKU Stops Falcons, 5-2

Dayton, Ohio – Bowling Green State University tennis' freshman Paula Comella Aguilo, sophomore Emily Witt and duo of Aguilo and senior Drew Fillis captured wins for the Falcons Friday evening against Northern Kentucky University, but the Orange and Brown were defeated 5-2 by Northern Kentucky University.
At No. 2 singles, Aguilo took down Danielle Donahue in two sets winning the first 6-4 and the second 6-1. It was Aguilo's second win of the spring season in just her third match.
Also with a 2-1 record is Witt, who tallied a win against Hailey Shanahan. Witt lost the first set 6-1, but bounced back and won the next two sets, 6-1, 7-5.
Falling at No. 1 singles and No. 6 singles were freshmen Polina Radeva and Marina Ferrero. The two battled through three set matches before being defeated.
Winning their second match this season was the No. 2 doubles team of Aguilo and Fillis. The duo defeated Klara Skopac and Danielle Donahue, 6-4.
The Falcons are back in action at the Perrysburg Tennis Center Jan. 29 against the University of Dayton at 12 pm.
