CLEVELAND, Ohio – A pair of Bowling Green women's soccer players earned All-Conference honors after the Mid-American Conference announced the season awards Thursday afternoon. Freshman Maureen Kennedy was named to the 2016 All-MAC Freshman Team, while redshirt sophomore Erica Hubert was named to the 2016 All-MAC Second Team.
A native of Welland, Ontario, Hubert was the Falcons leading scorer for the second consecutive season by tallying seven goals in addition to one assist for a team-leading total of 15 points. Hubert was named MAC Player of the Week after notching the program's first hat trick since 2010, and has now been recognized by the Conference in both of her seasons of play with the Bowling Green program. In 2015, Hubert was named to the All-MAC Freshman Team.
A native of Cypress, Calif., Kennedy topped the freshman class by notching four goals in her debut season. Kennedy started all 19 games for the Falcons and accounted for over 1700 minutes of playing time on the field. As a freshman, Kennedy marked the third-most goals on the team, as well as third-most points of the season with 12. Kennedy's first collegiate goal was the game-winner in the 1-0 victory over Detroit Mercy on Sept. 1, and in addition to marking a season-high of two assists against Akron, Kennedy also earned a three-point game in the 3-0 victory at Fort Wayne.
The Bowling Green women's soccer program finished the season with an overall record of 8-10-1 as well as a mark of 3-7-1 in MAC play. It was the most wins in a season since the 2008 campaign.
