Bill Lloyd, Lifelong Friend of BGSU, Passes Away
December 15, 2016 | General
Bowling Green, Ohio – Bill Lloyd, a dedicated supporter of BGSU Athletics, passed away Friday at Hillside Country Living in Bryan, Ohio. BGSU Athletics passes along its condolences on the loss.
Lloyd earned his degree from Bowling Green in 1948 and began building his career at Ernst & Ernst, passing the CPA exam and working in accounting his entire career. He was a member of BGSU's Champions Circle and an alumnus of the College of Business. Lloyd also served on the BGSU Foundation Board of Directors and helped found the Falcon Club.
In 2013, Lloyd commented, "It is because of BGSU that I have been able to be successful within my life. Of all the sporting events I've been to at BGSU in my lifetime, witnessing the 1984 BGSU hockey team winning the National Championship live is one of my favorite memories. I followed the team from the east coast to the west coast, from Maine to Alaska! Those were the last two states in the country I had not been to and traveling to them to watch BGSU hockey, I have now been to all 50."
A Celebration of Life Service will be held tomorrow at 10 am at First United Methodist, 1526 E. Wooster St. in Bowling Green. Visitation hours are 5-7 pm this evening at Dunn Funeral Home, 408 W. Wooster St.
