Griffin Qualifies For USA Olympic Trial
With Olympic Trials coming up next summer, the Bowling Green State University swimming and diving program swam in a long course dual meet at University of Akron on the afternoon of Dec. 7 following the three-day Zippy Invitational. The meet was designed to give swimmers an opportunity to qualify for USA Olympic Trials next summer. One Falcon swimmer did just that, as Victoria Griffin punched her ticket to next summer's event in Omaha, Neb. The story of the day was Griffin, a junior from Littlestown, Pa. On the last swim of the first session, she swam a 26.21 in the 50 free to just miss the cut mark of 26.19. But, she had the chance for redemption just 30 minutes later and put up a 26.00 to punch her ticket to next summer's USA Olympic Trials.
