Baer, Justinger, Kirkpatrick, Konieczki, Myers, Puk, Siefker & Tibbs all earn the league honor
A total of eight Bowling Green State University women's basketball student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team. Seniors Miriam Justinger and Lauren Tibbs, juniors Rachel Konieczki and Abby Siefker, redshirt sophomore Kennedy Kirkpatrick and true sophs Sarah Baer, Rachel Myers and Haley Puk all made the team, which was announced Wednesday (March 30) by the conference office.
BGSU's eight selections were the most of any MAC institution -- no other school had more than five players selected. In addition, BGSU had two of the five total student-athletes -- Myers and Siefker -- with a 4.000 cumulative grade-point average. A total of 44 student-athletes were chosen to the team.
Every student-athlete on the BGSU roster eligible for Academic All-MAC Team consideration was chosen to the team.
Justinger was named to the Academic All-MAC Team for the third consecutive season, while Kirkpatrick and Konieczki were chosen to the team for the second-straight year. Baer, Myers, Puk and Tibbs all earn the honor in their first year of eligibility, as does Siefker, who -- due to injury -- did not play in enough games to qualify for consideration last season.
Baer, a native of Perrysburg, Ohio, played in 16 of BGSU's 28 games off the bench, averaging 1.2 points and 1.1 rebounds in 4.5 minutes per game. She scored two points on nine separate occasions, and shot 63.6% from the field on the season, making 7-of-11 field-goal attempts. Baer had three rebounds in a pair of 2015-16 games. In the classroom, she has a cumulative GPA of 3.288 as a sport management major.
