Coach Michael Huger Basketball Camp Set to Debut This Summer

Bowling Green, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University men's basketball program and head coach Michael Huger are excited to announce the dates for the first-ever Coach Michael Huger Basketball Camp this summer, which will consist of two day camp sessions at the end of June on the campus of Bowling Green State University.
"I am proud to be the head coach at Bowling Green State University. One very special part of our program are the camps; built on teamwork and fundamental elements of the game. When I was a student-athlete at Bowling Green one of my favorite experiences was coaching young kids at our summer camps," stated Coach Huger. "Now with the opportunity to bring this program back, I am thrilled for our players and staff to work with local kids and share our passion for basketball with the community."
Session 1 of the inaugural Coach Michael Huger Basketball Camp will take place from June 20-24. This camp is open to children ages 5 to rising high school seniors. The daily sessions will go from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, June 20-23, and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, June 24.
Session 2 of the camp is set for June 27-July 1. This camp is open to ages 5 to rising 7th graders. The daily camp will again go from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 27-30, and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, July 1.
Lunch will not be provided. Pizza will be available for purchase at the camp.
The first day will begin with a fundamental session focused on learning the student's skill set as they receive individual and personalized instruction.
After the first day of camp, players will be drafted and coached by current BGSU players. Teams are arranged by grade and skill level. Each team will be coached by one of our BGSU men's basketball players and overseen by our coaching staff. Campers will receive a "draft notice" which will note their coach and team they will be participating on.
The Coach Michael Huger Basketball Camp will be a fun and friendly competitive learning environment for all skill levels. We are excited for the opportunity to spend quality time with players and share our love of basketball. The last day of camp will be "Championship Friday" which will include a single elimination tournament. We invite parents and siblings to attend the last day to watch the tournament and be there for our award ceremony.
