Men's Golf Sits Sixth At Inverness Intercollegiate

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Bowling Green men's golf program wrapped up the first day of the Inverness Intercollegiate currently sitting in sixth place with a total team score of 578, +19. After the first two rounds of play, the Falcons marked 49 pars, 16 birdies and one eagle on the day.

Leading the Falcons was redshirt sophomore Max Rispler, who carded scores of 69 and 71 after the first day of action for a total of 140, -2. The Grand Rapids, Mich. native sits tied for fifth place overall in the 13-team tournament.

Two Falcons are currently tied for 26th overall, in senior Jose Narro and sophomore Pablo Heredia Iglesias. Narro marked a score of 72 in the first round, followed by a 74 in the afternoon, while Iglesias earned scores of 69 and 77 in the first and second rounds, respectively. The pair earned total first day scores of 146, +4 on the day.

Finishing fourth on the Falcons lineup was senior Brett Rinker, who currently sits tied for 34th overall after the first day of competition. The Slippery Rock, Pa. native notched scores of 77 and 78 through the first two rounds for a total of 155, +13

Freshman Nick Hofland rounded out the Falcons lineup with a first round mark of 83, followed by a score of 81 in the second, for a two round total of 165, +22.

Competing as an individual for the Falcons is junior Cameron Michalak, who carded a first round score of 77, in addition to a second round score of 78 for a total score of 155, +13 after the first day of play.

The Bowling Green men's golf team will complete the Inverness Intercollegiate tomorrow morning, as the third and final round kicks off with 8 a.m. tee times at the Inverness Golf Club.
