Men's Golf Finishes Inverness Intercollegiate Tied For Eighth Overall

Final Results
TOLEDO, Ohio – The Bowling Green men's golf program rounded out the Inverness Intercollegiate, hosted by Mid-American Conference foe Toledo, on Tuesday afternoon with a final team score of 878, +26.
The Falcons ultimately finished tied for eighth place with Saint Mary's (CA) after rounds of 287, 300, and 291. Bowling Green tallied 35 birdies and two eagles over the course of the 54-hole event.
"The team played great at an awesome event that is first class," Bowling Green men's golf head coach Kevin Farrell said. "It is always nice for us to play close to home."
Redshirt sophomore Max Rispler finished on top of the Bowling Green lineup for the second tournament in a row, after shooting a total of 212, -1. The native of Grand Rapids, Mich. tied for ninth overall at the Inverness Intercollegiate with rounds of 69, 71 and 72, and marked both eagles for the Falcons, in addition to seven birdies over the course of the two-day event.
After shooting a low round of 71 in the third round today, senior Jose Narro finished second on the Falcons squad and tied for 23rd-place overall by hitting seven birdies. The Tampico, Mexico native carded rounds of 72, 74 and 71 for a final score of 217, +4.
A native of Sevilla, Spain, sophomore Pablo Heredia Iglesias carded a team-low of 69 in the first round followed by scores of 77 and 73 in the second and third rounds, respectively. Over the two-day tournament, Iglesias totaled a final score of 219, +6 for a tie of 32nd-place overall.
Senior Brett Rinker notched a score of 78 in the final round for a tournament total of 233, +20. By shooting 77 and 78 in the first two rounds, the Slippery Rock, Pa. native finished 66th overall in the second event of the fall season.
Rounding out the Bowling Green team lineup was freshman Nick Hofland, who competed in his second straight event for the Falcons. The Ancaster, Ontario native marked scores of 83, 81 and 75, for a two-day total of 239, +26.
Competing individually for the Falcons was junior Cameron Michalak, who carded rounds of 77, 78 and 81, for a final score of 236, +23. The native of Grove City, Ohio hit two birdies and 30 pars over the course of the Inverness Intercollegiate.
Up next, the Bowling Green men's golf team will travel to Bridgeport, W. Va. To compete in the Mountaineer Intercollegiate. The two day event, hosted by West Virginia, will take place Monday, Oct. 10 through Tuesday, Oct. 11.
