Falcons Continue Forward Momentum Saturday

Thundering Herd Invitational
Findlay Classic And Elite Throws
Huntington, W.Va. and Findlay, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University track and field team littered the track with personal bests Saturday in competition at a pair of meets. The Falcon throwers competed at the Findlay Classic and Elite Throws, while the rest of the squad concluded day two of Marshall's Thundering Herd Invitational.

Among other highlights, Elizabeth Iversen moved into the BGSU indoor record book in the weight throw and took over the top spot in the Mid-American Conference. The 1600 relay team set a season best time by almost 10 seconds, and the Falcons posted personal bests in most other events throughout the day.

Iversen threw a season-best 62-feet-4 in the weight throw in the elite field at the Findlay Classic. It was more than two feet further than her previous best this season, but still trails the 63-2.75 she threw at the Big Ten Championships a year ago, while competing for Purdue. She climbed a spot to first in the MAC with the toss and now ranks fifth in program history in the event.

At Marshall, Bowling Green's 1600 relay made a statement as Brianna Johnson, Taylor Rambo, Brianna Tidmore and Chasatea Brown ran 3:50.03 to win the event over 26 other teams. It was more than nine seconds faster than the season's previous best time and missed climbing into BGSU's top five performance by less than a second.

The Falcons had a number of other strong results as well. In the 60, Dorresha Green ran 7.60 seconds in the prelims and then posted a 7.54 to finish third in the finals. Cortisha Short added a personal best 7.81 in the event.

Short also ran 25.08 seconds in the 200 to post the fastest Falcon time of the time. But Gabrielle Edwards added a personal best with a time of 25.53 seconds. Brianna Tidmore's time of 58.10 seconds in the 400 was her collegiate best, while Camerone Bryant did the same in the 800 with a time of 2:27.46.

Becca Rae ran 10:09.67 in the 3000 and finished sixth, while Elena Lancioni followed her with a personal best 10:24.0. Jody Musser also set a PR in 10:58.68, while Kelsie Mothersead ran 10:51.82 in her first time competing in the event.

Bowling Green returns to action in a week when the Falcons compete at the Akron Invitational Friday and Saturday.
