Wiggins, Criswell Named Vito's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Vito's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are men's basketball player Demajeo Wiggins and swimmer Natalie Criswell.
Male Athlete of the Week
Sparked by a historic 22-rebound game at Central Michigan, Demajeo Wiggins, a sophomore forward from Toledo, Ohio, averaged 9.0 points, 17.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. In Bowling Green's game at CMU, Wiggins registered 22 rebounds – the most from a Falcon in 43 years. Wiggins notched seven offensive rebounds, and 15 defensive rebounds in the contest. He also scored 11 points and had a career-high four assists. His effort allowed him to record his third-consecutive double-double. In BG's game versus Ohio, he posted double-digit rebounds for the fourth-straight game, as he had 12 rebounds and seven points.Â
Female Athlete of the Week
Natalie Criswell, a junior from Portage, Mich., broke the school record in the 1650 freestyle, a mark which had stood for 24 years. Her time of 16:49.95 was .05 faster than the school record of 16:50.00. Thanks to Criswell's performance, the Falcons defeated Youngstown State at the Akron Invitational.
