Falcons Wrap Up Fall Season In Hawaii

LAHAINA, MAUI, HI – The BGSU Men's Golf team will compete in its last invitational of the 2017 Fall season in Hawaii this Friday-Sunday (Nov. 3-5), The Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic. The tournament will be played at the Ka'anapali Golf Club hosted by Hawaii University. The Royal Ka'anapali Course is a par 71 course and the tournament will be played over three days, 18 holes played each day. Each round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. each day.

The Ka'anapali Classic is the largest tournament played by BG this season consisting of 20 teams including the Falcons. BG will share the course with two other MAC competitors, Kent State and Ball State. Other teams taking strokes in Hawaii are Air Force, Boise State, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Houston, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana State, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, Sacramento State, South Carolina, West Virginia and Wyoming.
The Falcons have played in five invitationals prior to Ka'anapali. Wolf Run Intercollegiate (14/16), Inverness Intercollegiate (11/13), Mountaineer Intercollegiate (1/16), Autotrader Classic (13/16) and MTSU-Old Fort Intercollegiate (5/10).
Competing in the final meet of the fall season for the Falcons are Pablo Heredia Iglesias, Mitchell Kontak, Max Rispler, Rodrigue Vie and Trey Walker. Rispler was a key contributor to the Falcons' win at the Mountaineer Intercollegiate finishing in seventh place overall with a final score of 214, -2 (72,72,70). Walker is fresh off a great individual finish at the MTSU-Old Fort Intercollegiate last Monday (Oct. 30) finishing in fifth overall with a final score of 145, +1 (72, 73).
The Falcons will return in the spring to compete in four tournaments. Border Olympics (Mar. 9-10), Greenbrier Invitational (Apr. 9-10), Robert Kepler Intercollegiate (Apr. 21-22), and MAC Championship (Apr. 27-29).
