Baseball Inks Four During Early Signing Period

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball program and head coach Danny Schmitz announced the signing of four players to National Letters of Intent, the program announced Wednesday (Nov. 29) afternoon.
Tyler Hays (Copley, Ohio / Copley), Michael Malewitz (Grand Rapids, Michigan / East Grand Rapids), Andrew Oehmke (Macomb, Michigan / L'anse Creuse North) and Griffin Parrill (Perrysburg, Ohio / Perrysburg) will join the program next fall, and have four years of eligibility.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner at Copley High School … Plays for coaches Mike Chuppa and Ray Fantozzi … Team captain for the Indians … Led his team to the 2016 conference championship … Two-time first team All-Conference … Two-time All-District … Went 4-2 last season with a 2.21 ERA … His sophomore year, posted a 4-1 record with a 2.66 ERA … Registered a 2.85 ERA as a freshman, going 3-1 on the mound … Plays travel ball with Bo Jackson Elite.

HIGH SCHOOL: Will graduate from L'anse Creuse North High School in the spring of 2018 … Multiple-year letterwinner for coaches Jeff Dropps and Dale Campbell … The Crusaders of L'anse Creuse North compete in the Macomb Area Conference … Plays travel baseball for the Detroit Metro Stars … Chose BGSU because of his connection to the coaching staff, and felt comfortable and liked the campus.
PERSONAL: Full name is Lawrence Andrew Oehmke … Born on August 9, 2000 … Son of Larry and Gail Oehmke … Has one older sister, Emily … Undecided on a major.
