Jamie Baringer Receives Elite CAE Distinction

Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University Assistant Athletics Director for Arena Operations Jamie Baringer has become one of just 11 individuals to earn Certified Arena Executive (CAE) distinction through the Ice Arena Institute of Management (iAIM).Baringer joined the BGSU family in July of 2010 as the Director of the BGSU Ice Arena (now Slater Family Ice Arena). She was promoted to her current position as Assistant Athletics Director of Arena Operations in January of 2016 with the added responsibility of oversight for the Stroh Center.
The CAE program is graduate school layer of iAIM's curriculum and is designed to identify and hone industry leaders. It is the only educational forum designed to equip tomorrow's ice arena executives. In addition to completing 27 hours of classroom activities, participants strengthen their writing and public speaking skills.

Baringer is a 1998 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace University and is a member of the University's Athletics Hall of Fame after a stellar soccer career as a goalkeeper. In 2001, Baringer was hired by former BGSU Hockey Coach Jack Vivian as a shift supervisor at Taylor Sportsplex in Taylor, Mich. She quickly moved up the ranks and worked in a variety of positions before landing at BGSU, including Assistant General Manager of the Alice Noble Ice Arena in Wooster, Ohio and General Manager of the Lou and Gib Reese Ice Arena in Newark, Ohio.
Baringer is a doctoral student in the BGSU Department of Education, Leadership Studies Program. Her dissertation focuses on crisis readiness of ice arena management within the United States and Canada, a document she hopes will set a new safety standard for the industry.
