Women's Soccer Announces Spring Schedule

Spring Schedule
The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team begins the Spring 2017 schedule next weekend. First year head coach Matt Fannon and the Falcons will play three of road matches, in addition to a pair of home contests and an alumni game at Cochrane Stadium.
The schedule begins on Sat., March 25, as the Falcons face Big Ten opponent Michigan State. The following weekend, the Brown and Orange continue road action as they take on Grand Valley State on Sat., April 1. Bowling Green will then begin the home portion of the spring slate with the first of three-straight matches at Cochrane.
The Falcons will host Saginaw Valley on Sat., April 8, in a 2 p.m. start, before hosting its annual alumni match the following day on Sun., April 9 in an 11 a.m. start. The Cardinals went 10-7-1 last fall, including a 4-6-1 record in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
Bowling Green will then host Toledo in a classic matchup on Fri., April 14 in an evening 7 p.m. start. The spring schedule concludes the following Saturday, April 22, as the Falcons travel to Lexington, Ky. to face Kentucky in a 2 p.m. start. The Wildcats finished 2016 with a 5-9-4 overall record in addition to going 1-7-3 in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
The Bowling Green women's soccer program finished with an overall record of 8-10-1 in 2016, and the Falcons went 3-7-1 in MAC play. The eight wins marked the winningest season for the Falcons since the 2008 campaign, with a team that featured five seniors on the 25-player roster.
