Falcons Fall At Buffalo, 7-0, Friday
April 14, 2017 | Women's Tennis
Buffalo, N.Y. – The Bowling Green State University tennis team dropped its match to Buffalo by a 7-0 decision Friday afternoon at the University Tennis Center.
"Not taking the opportunities we had cost us the doubles point today," head coach Stephanie Dalmacio said. "Even though we competed, it wasn't enough to get us through singles. We are looking forward to competing again on Sunday against Akron."
In a close match, BGSU's duo of sophomore Paula Comella and freshman Marharita-Sophia Tavpash fell to Buffalo's pair of junior Tanja Stojanovska and senior Margarita Kotok, 7-5.
The Orange and Brown tandem of sophomore Polina Radeva and freshman Ayumi Sasaki were tied, 5-5 against UB's team of sophomore Chantal Martinez Blanco and freshman Anna Savchenko.
The match was halted when Buffalo secured the doubles point.
On court three, BG's Radeva lost her first set, 7-5 to the Bulls Emel Abibula, but rallied to capture the second set, 6-2. Abibula ultimately won, recording a 10-2 victory in the third set tie breaker.
The Falcons travel to Akron Sunday to face the Zips at 1 p.m. at the Outdoor Tennis Center.
