Comella, Tavpash Pick Up Doubles Win Against Miami

Bowling Green, Ohio – The top duo of sophomore Paula Comella and freshman Marharita-Sophia Tavpash captured their 14th overall doubles victory against the RedHawks, but the Bowling Green State University tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss Sunday afternoon at Keefe Courts.
"Miami played well and smart to deserve the win today," head coach Stephanie Dalmacio said. "We have a lot to work on this week to be ready for Buffalo and Akron next weekend."
Comella and Tavpash teamed up to defeat Nelli Ponomareva and Anzhelika Shapovalova of Miami by a score of 6-4, at the No. 1 position.
In singles, sophomore Polina Radeva captured the first set against Andreea Badileanu, 6-4. Radeva dropped the second set, 6-3, to force a super tiebreaker. Badileanu won the super tiebreaker, 10-8.
The Falcons hit the road for two matches against Buffalo (Apr. 14) and Akron (Apr. 16) before returning home to close out conference play versus Northern Illinois (Apr. 21) and Western Michigan (Apr. 23). All matches are set to begin at 1 p.m.
